Travel Writing with Style Workshop, 22 September, 8:45 a.m.-5:00 p.m. [Event flyer pdf]
If you’ve traveled to interesting places and met interesting people but aren’t quite sure how to share your experiences with others, then this is the course for you! Widely published writer Paul Sochaczewski will conduct this workshop, which will include his “Ten Tips” for more powerful writing and numerous writing exercises.

“New to Bangkok?”, Tuesday, 7 October, 10:00–11:30 a.m.
Long-time Bangkok resident Sarah Allen will provide a special orientation program to introduce newcomers to the vibrant and exciting city of Bangkok. This lighthearted approach will cover every-day issues such as hiring maids, traveling, shopping, eating, medical care, dressmaking, accommodation, work and play. Donation: B300
Siamese Wellness Day, Bangkok Breast Cancer Support Group, British Club, Wed. 1 Oct.
The BBCs actively support early detection of breast cancer,and breast awareness, as this is first and best form of defense against this disease. To promote this awareness, the BBCs organize a function every October, to observe international breast cancer awareness month. This year, on the 1st of October, BBCs together with BNH Hospital, will be holding our "Siamese Wellness Day" at the British Club from 9.00am to 3.00pm. This is in keeping with our theme of Thai traditional wellness methods and remedies. The Thai holistic way of wellness and relaxation will be explored and shared with the women who attend. Traditional stress relief, herbal methods and natural organic food and drinks will be on display.
"Bangkok for Kids", Saturday, 11 October, 10:30 a.m.
With two young children of her own, American expat Laura Perry knows all the places to go and things to do with kids in and around Bangkok. Join us in the Garden Café to learn how to keep your children entertained. Adult-accompanied kids are welcome to join the storytelling & crafts in the Library. Donation: B100
“Thirst for Blood”, Halloween Murder Mystery, Friday, 31 October, 7:00 p.m.
The Library teams up with the British Club again for this 3-course dinner and murder mystery. Actors will sit at each table and interact with diners, as they attempt to figure out whodunit. Cocktails will be served from 7:00, and dinner will begin at 8:00.
Cost: B1200/person; tables of 6 can be booked
Early booking is essential, and tickets must be purchased at the Library prior to the event.
"Spice up your Story-telling", workshop with Kathy France, Saturday, 8 November, 10:30–11:30 a.m.
Kathy France, artistic director of Caravan Theatre and a drama educator for over 25 years, will conduct this workshop that teaches parents how to engage their child’s imagination in creative story-telling. Learn how to use acting, role-plays, story-telling games, puppets, art and creative movement to enhance the reading of story books.

Used Book Sale, 8-9 November, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00p.m.
We have hundreds of good quality “previously read” books for sale, at very low prices. As always, we’re also accepting book donations, so now’s the time to clean out your bookshelves and trade in those old favorites for new ones!
